Rombach and Haas, abbreviated Romba, has a factory with a beautiful view which has inspired their beautiful clocks to be manufactured unlike any other since the company was founded in 1894 in Schonach. Its reputation hints at a modern, yet traditional clock company which has something to offer anyone looking for a unique and high quality clock.
Rombach and Haas is still producing hand-painted shield clocks, as well as antique reproductions, which mixed with their innovative and modern designs, goes to show their versatility in the marketplace. This respect for the old clock styles keeps their original generations of clocks alive and on available to customers today.
In 2005 Rombach and Haas introduced their first “modern-style” cuckoo clocks, giving younger generations access to the quality and craftsmanship of the Black Forest in a design that was more fit for a modern-style home. This creativity has brought the company some fame as well, as they’ve made clocks for celebrities such as Udo Walz, Daniela Low, the wife of the German national soccer team’s coach, along and many others.
Four generations of Haas family members have operated the company over the last 100 years, with the fifth willing and ready in this current day. Original workbenches and tools can be found throughout their shop. The family-owned business’s attention to quality, history and authenticity shows in each and every clock they produce. Ingolf Haas is the president of the Black Forest Clock Organization (VDS), committed to upholding authentic clock making standards in modern times.
