Shapes That Catch The Eye and Intrigue the Mind

For over 140 years, Daum has employed the work of over 350 master artisans in the creation of their crystal product line. Each bowl they manufacture is hand crafted by an expert artist in the pâte de verre art, which allows for shapes otherwise impossible to make become a reality. Bowls in the shapes of leaves are some of the most common shapes Daum produces, with a strong emphasis on the beauty of nature, you can see the flowing lines carefully crafted into each resulting object. More traditionally shaped bowls such as the Ginkgo Bowl in Amber and the Large Tresage Bowl are some of the more popular items due to their relatability. If you’re looking for more unique shapes that catch the eye, the Cattleya Bowl by Emilio Robba or their Cactus Bowls are sure to do the trick. One of a kind shapes are combined with colors not found anywhere else in the world, resulting in a collection of unique bowls fit for any quality space.

Daum Crystal Medium Tressage Bowl

From the Caribbean to Madagascar to Indonesia, leaves from bamboo, banana, and coconut trees are braided in the art of basket weaving. This ancestral practice requires only fresh leaves and excellent dexterity; its use is near ubiquitous for everyday items such as baskets, hats, fences, and decoration.

Daum's creative studios explore this art form by adapting the basketweaving technique to sculpture. Natural fibers are braided and then reshaped into vases and bowls. Fronds of different plants criss-cross and blend—fresh, green, and slender—forming vessels where one can showcase cut flowers or freshly-harvested fruits. For an added touch of lush, tropical flora native to the islands where basket-weaving is still common practice, yellow vanilla flowers adorn and perfect these beautiful pieces.
