What Sets Friedman Brothers Mirrors Apart?

Historic Roots in Elegant Design

The company was founded by two brothers who emigrated from England in 1903. They brought with them an outstanding talent for old-world elegant design and the skilled crafts of wood carving and finishing, with special emphasis on Old World gold leafing. Through hard work and an unyielding commitment to design and quality, the Friedman brothers became the interior designer's supplier of choice for elegant and sophisticated decorative wall art over the years.

Over the years the Friedman Brothers passed down their passion for fine art and craftsmanship to others who took on the daily workings and craft of the company. To this day, that same heritage and quality product remains, tried and true over the years.

Handcrafting Process

All Friedman Brothers products are constructed of the finest kiln dried woods. Artisans begin the first of the intricate and unique steps by precision cutting the pieces using carefully designed patterns. All wood joints are fitted carefully by hand to provide permanent bonded strength and to prevent warping. The product is then milled to its final shape and shipped to its new owner. ]]

The next step is the application of the exquisite ornaments. The ornaments are handmade from a process dating back over 200 years and a very special gesso composition developed in the 18th century to achieve intricate ornamentation. Every ornament is bonded, tooled and handcrafted requiring the expertise of a skilled craftsman.

As mentioned earlier, each mirror is custom made to order, ensuring that the customer gets every specific finish and detail that they want from their Friedman Brothers mirror.
